What You’ll Learn: In this revolutionary training from our 2019 AcuGrowth Symposium, Dr. Kimberly Thompson shares what she’s learned in over 10 years of specializing in Fibromyalgia treatment. She’ll explain how Western medicine falls short for many patients, and why acupuncture should be a first-line treatment for chronic pain. You’ll learn to make sense of fibromyalgia within AcuGraph, and how to use an integrative, multimodality approach to bring relief and encourage longterm healing and wellness. In Dr. Kimberly’s words, EVERY acupuncturist should specialize in fibromyalgia, because it really can make a difference for patients.

Instructions: While viewing course materials, please consider these questions:

  1. According to Western medicine studies, Fibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS) is a “complex pain syndrome” which is difficult to diagnose. The main symptom of fibromyalgia is pain. List five other symptoms a patient with FMS is likely to present with.
  2. Fibromyalgia is difficult for Western practitioners to treat. List four common “Standard of Care” treatments typically used by Western medical doctors.
  3. Based on what you learned from this lecture, please explain why Western medical doctors typically fail when treating patients with FMS.
  4. According to current clinical research studies, fibromyalgia requires a “Multi-Dimensional” approach to treatment including acupuncture. Please share how your expertise as an acupuncturist can help bridge the gap between Eastern and Western medicine.

When you have completed the course work, you will be required to answer these questions on the course worksheet prior to receiving your end-of-course assessment for credit.

CEU Credit Information

After you have completed all required steps, including viewing the module, completing the worksheet and submitting the quiz, we will log your information with the appropriate credit-issuing agency (NCCAOM). Once we have logged your information, NCCAOM will send you an access link via email to download your official certificate. The certificate will show the date, your name, your license number, the course name and number, and the number of credits/hours attained.

Please await receipt of your official certificate from NCCAOM. It may take 2-5 business days.

What About California Credit?

If you need California credit, our California Provider number (#1028) will also be listed on your NCCAOM certificate. Many practitioners find this is all they need to satisfy requirements.

We can create a separate California certificate if necessary. Reach out to us via he**@mi*********.com for assistance.
